Advantage® is easy to use.
Advantage comes in a convenient pre-measured dose. Once a month, use one tube and apply the entire contents. Simply part the hair on your pet and apply the solution directly onto the skin.
For cats: apply onto the skin at the base of the skull. Be careful not to apply it too low or your cat may be able to lick off the solution. Although this won't harm your cat, it doesn't taste good and it could lower the effectiveness of the treatment.
For dogs: apply onto the skin along the back -- between the shoulder blades for smaller dogs, and at 3 or 4 points for larger dogs.

There are no pills for your pet to swallow, and no messy sprays or powders.

Once Advantage is applied to your pet, it spreads on the surface of the skin at the hair root level, to provide whole body protection against fleas. It's odourless and won't affect your pet's skin or coat.

Do not bathe your pet in the 24 hours following application or Advantage may not be as effective. It is not necessary to wash your pet before applying Advantage. But to obtain best results, it is recommended that your pet be clean of excess dirt and debris, and be dry before applying Advantage.

Once applied, it goes directly to work.
Studies show that even with occasional water swimming or shampoos, Advantage continues to kills fleas fast:
Effective for up to a month, even when treated dogs were immersed in water weekly.
Effective against repeated flea infestations for a month, even when treated dogs were shampooed four days after treatment.
Dogs that swim weekly or are bathed monthly will not require another application.
Dogs that require bathing every two weeks should have one bath immediately before Advantage is applied. The second bath may then take place any time between applications.
Dogs that swim more than four times monthly or are bathed more than twice monthly should have their flea control monitored, and reapplied as required.
